Canberra Illuminated

You know that feeling when you discover a gem…you kind of want to keep it to yourself for a bit, before sharing it with your friends; because they’re certain to want one too!

Well, I can’t keep mum about Yumi Morrissey of Zilpah tart any longer; it just wouldn’t be fair to you all. Her work is so unique the world really should see it and every woman should have at least one item that lights up their wardrobe!

Zilpah tart is a ‘one woman operation’ with Yumi the visionary, designer and producer behind the Brand. Using photographs taken herself featuring Canberra landmarks as inspiration, where Yumi lives with her family, she then transforms those images into printable designs. Sometimes Yumi selects one image, other times she creates a collage, which is then digitally printed onto fabrics.

These bright and vibrant fabrics are used to create the most amazing collection of dresses and skirts, certain to make you desire one (or two!) and brighten any day.

“Zilpah tart dresses feature feminine silhouettes, with full skirts that suit almost all body types, and made from jersey fabric making them extremely comfortable to wear as you get on with your day.  The fabric doesn’t crease or crinkle making them perfect for travel, is easy to wash and dries quickly.  Perfect for the busy, modern woman.” says Yumi.

The latest autumn/winter collection ‘Illuminate’ has just been released by Zilpah tart capturing images from Canberra nights; lights illuminating iconic Canberra buildings such as the National Film and Sound Archive, the Torsional Wave at Questacon the National Science and Technology Centre. The bright contrast of lights against the dark night sky creates the perfect background for an incredible illuminating collection.

You’ll find three exclusive fabrics across the ‘Illuminate’ collection; my favourite has to be the ‘Coloured Light’ print, shining bright like a multi coloured rainbow across the National Film and Sound Archive.  All of them equally as stunning and eye-catching.

I’m wearing the Perimeter Dress in Coloured Light Print (above), size 14 RRR $210, and the beautiful and timeless Loop Scarf in Lucent Blue Print (below) RRR $60.

You can find Yumi’s unique creations through her online store and select boutiques and markets.

So unique, so beautiful, so stylish….      which one will you be wearing soon?

These items were kindly gifted by Zilpah tart for me to show to you, my lovely readers. This however, has not persuaded my opinions of the product and my thoughts are 100% my own.
