Spring has finally made an appearance! Hooray!! (well, it is the beginning of summer). And, just as the festive season fast approaches meaning time for xmas parties, family get togethers, school graduation and plenty of picnics in the park.
A while ago i was kindly gifted a dress of my choice from Studio g.a.s. Ballarat to wear to the Ballan Cup, along with a wonderfully handmade fascinator. The day however was quite chilly and I didn’t get a chance to show off how gorgeous the dress I chose was, so….. here it is, as worn to a recent family picnic!
There’s always so many beautiful choices at Studio g.a.s. Ballarat but the ‘The Cherise Multi Dress’ by Elise Design ticked all the boxes for me!
Elise Design began with humble beginnings at the Glebe and Bondi Markets in Sydney. Owner and designer Thu Nguyen naming her business after her daughter. The label has now expanaded throughout australia and overseas and can be found in many boutiques including their own retail locations in Newtown, Sydney and Fitzroy, Melbourne.
Why do i love it so…Elise Designs are inspired by Thu’s love of vintage fashion and I do love a bit of Vintage. The 1950’s inspired fitted bodice and full skirt balloons out from my natural waist line skimming the areas i like to highlight and billowing over the mummy tummy. You could even add a petticoat to this style of dress to give it an added fullness.
Did i mention it has pockets? Yes a mums best friend, these pockets are real ‘full hand’ pockets! Big enough to pop my iphone, for capturing family moments, or all those acorns and trinkets found in the park by my toddler as was the case on this outing.
The Cherise dress also comes in another colour, but these colours suit my colour palate, and the pattern means you can keep accessories to a minimum. Incidentally, my Zeta shoes were also purchased from g.a.s. and tie perfectly into the neutrals of the dress.
I hope you are enjoying the sunny weather, in your own region, and time with family and friends…. what pre-christmas wardrobe have you in store?
